Why the Foundation
Asteri means star in Greek.
If you have read our story you will have discovered that Asteri is the name we gave to the first child we lost and and is symbol of purpose, memory and direction. A reminder of the hope we carry forward.
From every order, a portion is set aside for three causes that have walked with our family. We don't choose new causes each season. We commit to these, quietly, for the long term.
Cause One
Baby loss support
Funding for charities supporting families through miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal loss. The four babies who shaped our hearts forever, and every family walking the same road.
Donations go to organisations providing bereavement midwifery, memory-making, counselling and ongoing peer support. The work is quiet, unglamorous and life-changing for the families who receive it.
For every star that never came home.
Cause Two
Menopause awareness
Resources, education and community for women navigating menopause. A chapter so often left in the dark. We fund education programmes, workplace training and access to specialist support for women who have been dismissed or under-treated for too long.
Half the population goes through it. None of us should go through it alone, uninformed, or unheard.
For the chapters no one talks about.
Cause Three
Red panda conservation
Support for breeding programmes at Longleat Zoo and habitat protection across the eastern Himalayas. A small love letter to the creatures our daughters adore. Fewer than 10,000 red pandas remain in the wild, threatened by deforestation, poaching and the climate pressures pushing their bamboo forests upslope.
Small, quiet, easily missed, and worth every effort.
