From the farm

Cañas Verdes, Boquete · La Huella · Volcán Barú

Producer · La Huella / Café de Panama — family farm, Cañas Verdes

Grown at 1,500–1,800 metres in the Boquete/Volcán region, this lot comes from a private estate planted on volcanic slopes with sustained high rainfall. The farm operates an estate wet mill and follows a fully washed protocol with slow, controlled drying on raised beds. Small-batch lots are handled on-site, allowing careful selection and consistent processing through the January–March harvest window, producing a very clean, defined crop suited to light–medium roasts.

Origin notes

Panama Terroir Lot 7E Gesha comes from the La Huella / Café de Panama story: a journey that began in 2011, when Katarina and Pedro invested in a small coffee farm above Boquete, on the picturesque slopes of Volcán Barú. Their focus was never mass production. Instead, they pursued micro and nano-lots, exploring the relationship between variety, landscape, climate and careful processing. Lot 7E expresses that philosophy in a focused and elegant way. Gesha is one of the world’s most admired coffee varieties, prized for its floral aromatics, tea-like structure and graceful sweetness. In the hands of La Huella, it becomes a coffee of place: shaped by Panama’s mountain climate and by the detailed work required to produce tiny lots of exceptional character. The wider Café de Panama journey later expanded into Europe through Nika and Jernej, allowing La Huella coffees to reach customers with a more personal, freshly prepared approach. For Asteri, Lot 7E sits naturally in the Icon collection: rare, refined and designed to be experienced slowly. Asteri note: A rare Panama Gesha lot with a graceful, ceremonial character — created for collectors and for those who want coffee to feel like an occasion.

Good to know

Questions before you brew

Whole beans stay fresher for longer because grinding exposes more surface area to oxygen. If you own a burr grinder, always pick beans and grind just before you brew. Choose ground only if you don't have a grinder at home. When you pick ground, tell us the brew method (espresso, filter, cafetière, AeroPress, moka) and we grind Volcán 7E to the exact particle size for that method.
