Should I choose whole beans or ground?

Accepted Answer

Whole beans stay fresher for longer because grinding exposes more surface area to oxygen. If you own a burr grinder, always pick beans and grind just before you brew. Choose ground only if you don't have a grinder at home. When you pick ground, tell us the brew method (espresso, filter, cafetière, AeroPress, moka) and we grind Coffea Diversa Dilla Alghe Yellow to the exact particle size for that method.

How fresh is the coffee when it arrives?

Every bag is roast-to-order. We roast in small batches on the same day (or the working day after) you place your order, then ship straight from the roastery. Coffee is at its peak between roughly 5 and 21 days off roast, so you'll receive it inside that window with a roast date printed on the bag.

When do you grind the coffee?

Accepted Answer

Grind-to-order. If you select a ground option, we grind the bag immediately after roasting and rest, then seal it into a one-way-valve foil bag to lock the aroma in. Ground coffee starts losing flavour within days, so we recommend using it within two weeks of the roast date and keeping it sealed at room temperature, away from light and moisture.

How should I store my bag at home?

Accepted Answer

Keep the bag sealed, upright, in a cool dark cupboard. Don't refrigerate or freeze once opened — temperature swings pull moisture into the coffee. If you buy multiple bags, freeze the unopened ones and only open one at a time.
